WHAT WE DO

Workforce Development Agency

Legacy began a workforce agency to assist those looking for a career not just a job. We bring together our corporate relationships to help bridge the gap that often just needs a leg up. We also help prepare our workforce with interview training calling upon those with backgrounds in human resources to assist.

Legacy Development Corp (LDC) is a not-for-profit workforce development agency established under the laws of the State of New York to provide employment services to people in need of work opportunities. What makes Legacy unique is our approach to meeting employment needs. It’s not just jobs, but careers. We bring together our corporate relationships to help bridge the gap that often just needs a leg up. We also help prepare our workforce with interview training calling upon those with backgrounds in human resources to assist. We encourage you to contact our office to schedule a one-to-one consultation to discuss your business needs.

Community Leadership Council (CLC)

A key to any community is its resource center. Legacy Development Corp. offers members of the local community a platform where leaders can come together quarterly to exchange information.

The purpose of the Council is to establish a hub where information may be exchanged and distributed to the community at large. The CLC hub encompasses leaders, entrepreneurs, individuals and families alike. Any local resident seeking information on upcoming events, community programs, human service providers, not-profits or educational services (tutoring, sports, etc) may find information by reaching out to us.

Each quarter the Leadership Council will hear from different stakeholders and have an opportunity to collaborate on at-large projects to enhance the lives of families we serve.

Food Scarcity

Legacy is interested in bridging the gap in food shortages. Long Island has several food deserts which are quietly growing in the shadows. The truth of the matter is this, there are families eating less than nutritional foods who also rely on public transportation yet unable to access grocery stores out of their communities. While there are others filling the gaps with pop-ups addressing some of these needs we hope for a more permanent solution. Legacy is seeking to bring affordable, nutritious food begin with its initial store in a food deprived community. We have partnered with others who have successfully addressed this problem in their communities.

Housing Development

Legacy is interested in real property to house its programs in addition to outside programs affiliated with County, State, and Federal levels of government. LDC is working with both private and public sectors to develop zombie homes, foreclosed properties and/or raw land for the purpose of providing permanent supportive housing for the homeless, abused and those moving from prison to transition. The beauty of the housing program lies within our rehabilitative support services. Legacy is taking a wholistic approach to providing the most basic of human services during transitional stages of lives of people.
