Legacy Development Corporation (“Legacy”) is dedicated to fostering social and economic growth for the residents of New York State, thereby enhancing the lives of the people who live there. We offer human services to individuals in transient settings, including care coordination, job readiness programs, college preparation, and a comprehensive range of supportive housing services for clients in impermanent situations.
By providing the most basic and fundamental levels of care through our family-centered case work programs, Legacy is able to connect with clients on a one-to-one basis establishing a professional rapport that allows our team to identify “gaps”. Once gaps have been identified, our team of professionals work to fill the gap areas in our clients’ lives that have previously hindered their ability to enter into life’s developmental stages. We know change is possible. We’ve seen it. Our trained Staff work with individuals/families undergoing challenges so they may see the possibility of “change” too. Workforce Development Agency
Legacy began an employment agency to assist individuals looking for careers. Our not-for-profit workforce development agency is established under the laws of the State of New York to provide employment services to people in need of work opportunities. What makes Legacy unique is our approach to meeting employment needs. We bring together our corporate and community relationships to help bridge gaps between employers and diverse clients. We help prepare individuals in need of work opportunities with interview skills to equip them for success. Housing Development
Legacy Development Corporation is seeking to purchase real property to run its programs affiliated with County, State and Federal levels of government. Legacy is currently working with both private and public sectors to develop land for its housing initiatives. The beauty of our program is in our approach. Like the case management services we offer, Legacy will take a caring, strategic, and thoughtful approach to the delivery of its housing services by offering rehabilitative programs in addition to housing for our clients. Legacy takes a wholistic approach to providing the most basic of human services for individuals/families in transition.
Food Scarcity
Legacy is interested in bridging the gap in food shortages. Long Island has several food deserts which are quietly growing in the shadows. The truth of the matter is this, there are families eating less than nutritional foods who also rely on public transportation yet unable to access grocery stores out of their communities. While there are others filling the gaps with pop-ups addressing some of these needs we hope for a more permanent solution. Legacy is seeking to bring affordable, nutritious food begin with its initial store in a food deprived community. We have partnered with others who have successfully addressed this problem in their communities.
